Sunday Morning Opportunities for Adults
9:45 – 10:45 am
Emmaus Interpreters; Campbellite Room (Upper Level)
The Emmaus Interpreters’ latest study is Portraits of Jesus in the Gospels, a 13-week video series about the life of Christ from the perspective of each of the four Gospel writers. The 1988 series created by the Rev. Dr. Fred B. Craddock, Disciples New Testament theologian and nationally-renown preacher and speaker, focuses each week on an image or portrait of Jesus, instead of teachings or doctrines. Newcomers are welcome at any time. For more information, contact class facilitators Sandy Rampley or Andy Stafford.
Campbellite Class; Fireside Study (Main Level)
“Being a member of the Campbellite Class is a great experience,” states one member. Rick Spleth, Indiana Christian Church regional minister, commented after visiting this class, that he thought it one of the best in Indiana! Perhaps this is because we seek to be more than a class; we seek to become a loving, growing community. As we explore the Biblical message together, we learn, laugh and share ideas. We are currently focusing on a study of the book of Romans. We are viewing a DVD which features Peter Jennings, former anchor at ABC, who, along with several well-known biblical scholars, presents an overview of the Life of Paul. We are also using the Kerygma study on Romans by Dr. Roetzil, renowned authority on the works of Paul. If you are interested, please join us at 9:45 am on Sundays in the Fireside Study. Facilitated by Nancy Heimer.
Listening for God: Group Meditation; Room 14 (Lower Level)
This group, facilitated by Tom Walsh, will cultivate the practice of silent meditation as a means of deepening participants’ faith and improving their conscious contact with God. Those seeking an alternate time or additional opportunities to practice meditation are invited to join Thomas Thompson on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 to 6:30 pm in the Fireside Study. Those with questions should speak with Thomas Thompson or Tom Walsh by contacting the church office.
