Music

The Music Ministry is an integral part of the worship and cultural life of First Christian Church. FCC has a long history of outstanding, meaningful, and top-caliber music, and we are proud to continue those traditions today. What sets the music at FCC apart from that of other churches is that we not only aim for the highest quality music worthy of praising God, but also we aim to make everyone in the congregation feel like a part of the music ministry. Anyone, regardless of previous music experience, is welcome at any time to join the music ministry.

Our Sanctuary Choir meets every Thursday night from 5:30pm-6:30pm and provides an anthem and leadership in hymnody at the 11:00am Sunday service. The Handbell Choir presents music in worship two or three times per semester, rehearsing for six weeks prior to the Sunday of presentation.  Our Men’s Vocal Ensemble (MVE) and Women’s Vocal Ensemble (WVE) are seasonal unisex choirs that present in worship three times each per year, rehearsing three times prior to the Sunday of presentation. Finally, our Festival Choir leads worship musically on major holidays, including Christmas Eve, Holy Week, and Easter. The MVE, WVE, and Festival Choir are all excellent ensembles to “get your feet wet” in the Music Ministry.
